Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Spring TBR

Top ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana over at That Artsy Reader. This weeks prompt is Books On My Spring TBR!

I’ve listed these in no particular order of importance, just the first ones that managed to come to mind. I have so much reading I hope to get done! The title of each book links back to Goodreads if you’d like to read more about them.

  1. The Crystal Shard by R. A. Salvatore – This is a series that my friend has been begging me to read! I just started this one recently, and can’t wait to see where it goes. 66693
  2. Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amy Kaufman – This has been on my TBR forever. I can’t wait to finally read it now that the final installment, Obsidio, is out! 23395680
  3. A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas – Since ACoFaS comes out in the beginning of May, I’ll count it as a spring release. I love Maas and the world of ACoTaR, so my excitement to return shouldn’t be any surprise!31076583
  4. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – I’ve been waiting to read this forever, and now that the author is going to BookCon (and I am too!) I NEED to.18798983
  5. Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs – I love the world of supernatural beings that Patricia Briggs has made, and I can’t wait to dive back in.35294265
  6. Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne – This book is a retelling of one of my favorite books, Jane Eyre, only SET IN SPACE. When I heard about this combination of a classic and a science fiction world, I knew I needed to read it.35721194
  7. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss – I have been shamed about not reading this book many times, and I need to finally cross it off the list.2495567
  8. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa – A book set in a fae world that I have been cajoled about multiple times. Another long standing TBR installment that needs to be read!22818666
  9. Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson – When I found out Brandon Sanderson was going to BookCon I was ecstatic because people always rave about him. Then I realized that although I own 5 Sanderson books, I have not read any. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish some of his work before seeing him speak!2432721
  10. Furyborn by Claire Legrand – I received this book from NetGalley and it sounds so amazing! I can’t wait to pick it up and see how it is.34323570

Have you read any of the books on my list/are you looking forward to the same ones? I’d love to hear more in the comments!

Feb. TBR Tuesday

Unfortunately, I only completed half of my January TBR challenge. I finished Golden Son by Pierce Brown and it’s sequel, Morning Star, but failed to muster up the moxie to finish This Mortal Coil, so back on the TBR it goes! Hopefully I’ll be able to rise to the challenge this month!

New on the TBR Pile: The Dark Calling (Arcana Chronicles #5) by Kresley Cole         Goodreads31453592

Published February 13, 2018

I have been waiting on this book for FOREVER. It was originally supposed to be published in Spring of 2017, but kept getting pushed back. Now we are finally getting the next installment of the Arcana Chronicles in February 2018! The last book ended on a cliffhanger, so I will definitely be reading this one ASAP because I NEED to know what happens! If you guys want to see my review for Arcana Rising, Book #4 in this series click HERE.

Note: I haven’t included the synopsis because of series spoilers.

Old on the TBR Pile: The Iron King (The Iron Fey Book #1) by Julie Kagawa            Goodreads22818666

Published February 1, 2010

This is a book I’ve been meaning to read for YEARS (it’s been sitting on my Goodreads shelf since 2013!). Everyone I’ve talked to that has read this series absolutely loves it, and as a lover of faeries and folklore I really enjoy the premise. I bought the entire series in paperback from a used bookstore, so now I have to actually start them this month!

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth.

For Meghan is the daughter of a mythical faery king…and a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

What books are you going to knock of your TBR in February?

Coming Soon!

I haven’t really been finishing any reviews for books lately (there’s been a lot of romance/pool reads for me the last month), so in an attempt to break the posting dry spell I’ve compiled this list of books soon to be released that I’m excited about!

NEW BOOKS

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass #6) by Sarah J Maas    B&N     Target (not up yet)

9781681198798_p0_v1_s192x300

One of my favorite series, I’m super excited for this release! I can’t wait to see Chaol’s adventures in the Southern Kingdoms. The Target exclusive edition is going to have fan art on the end papers whereas the Barnes and Noble edition will have a pages from Maas’ writing journal. I personally will probably end up with both but the fan art for these books is always super awesome.

Godsgrave (Nevernight Chronicles #2) by Jay Kristoff      B&N

9781250163714_p0_v1_s192x300

I’m currently reading Nevernight right now and it’s an action packed with assassins. I’m already excited or the next book to release, and can’t wait for the Barnes and Noble exclusive edition which will have fan art on the endpapers, and will be signed! I just love seeing characters brought to life in illustrations.

Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo      B&N

9780375976162_p0_v1_s192x300

I was originally leery about the DC Ya Novel Series, but then I saw the list of killer author’s representing the best superheroes! I can’t wait to see how Bardugo represents Diana. Right now they have a signed edition of the book available for preorder at Barnes and Noble.

EXCLUSIVE EDITIONS

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare   Amazon

81givv6y4ql

The 10th anniversary edition of this book looks awesome! There will be illustrations and fan art throughout the book and it’ll be beautiful with gilded edges and cloth bound. There will be four stories previously available only in limited distribution (and a brand new one!). Even though I already have this book in paperback (signed no less!) I’ll definitely be picking up this edition of one of my favorite series.

A Darker Shade of Magic (A Darker Shade of Magic #1) by V. E. Schwab   Amazon

512bqcxdspcl-_sx329_bo1204203200_

I just finished this book recently and can already tell it will be one of my favorites (see my review HERE). I don’t own it physically yet, so this edition is perfect for my collector (and bookstagram) needs! It’s the negative of the original cover (and foiled!) with a glossary of terms, an interview with the author, and best of all it will be SIGNED! Though there aren’t any plans for the rest of the series to have collectors, if this one sells well they will likely do it. So go support my crazy collector needs and preorder it today!

Thanks for reading! I’ll hopefully have more reviews to post soon!
