When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O’Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.

Then Graham finds out that Ellie’s Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media’s spotlight at all costs?

I read this book quite a while ago actually, long before my illustrious blogging career. I am revisiting this lovely little book I read way back in January 2014 as the first book in my Book Club: The Archeron sisters. My two best friends and I constantly relate ourselves to the Archeron sisters from Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses books, and because we all have blogs (Maggie @ MassachusettsNovel and Jess @ StarsWhoListen) now we have made a little book club! Feel free to read along, or just read our reviews, and also leave us suggestions!

This was the first book that I have read by Jennifer E. Smith, and I have to say that I absolutely adored it. Ellie and Graham were such likable characters, and I loved how the modern era was incorporated into this book. I feel like a lot of contemporary heroines just bump into their leading man on the street, so a chance meeting by email was refreshing.

The dynamic problems that they had to face throughout the book were interesting as well, with lots of family drama, which I absolutely love in fluffy romance books. I will admit that the book isn’t exactly believable in terms of the actual relationship and how they meet, but the relationship with a famous actor is a written out fantasy of most girls (me included). But, as I stated, this is the perfect fluffy romance book to warm your cold soul (especially coming off of an ending like Empire of Storms).

Overall, this was a cute and lovely romance story that left me with a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart, even if there is a little bit of a question as to the couples future. I did just find out when I looked on Goodreads again that there is a novella sequel, which I will definitely check out in the future!

Again please read along with our book club! Our October pick is the darkly fascinating Three Dark Crowns  by Kendare Blake. Can’t wait to see what this book holds!

Check out Jess‘ and Maggie’s opinions on this book, and check back of future updates!

Thanks for reading!
